Navigational Buoy Serving A Dual Purpose
A buoy equipped with Aanderaa instruments is used for navigational safety and to collect water exchange data between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea.
The navigational buoy of the port of Helsingborg reports temperature and currents every 10 minutes. Real-time data containing information about the water exchange between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea is also made available and reported directly to electronic charts on-board ships over AIS.
